This Examination Ban Treaty prevented the testing of nuclear ordnance that detonated from the atmosphere, limiting nuclear weapons screening to down below ground and underwater, lowering fallout and results over the surroundings, and subsequently prompted the Doomsday Clock to reduce by 5 minutes, to arrive at a total of twelve minutes to midnight.
